Texas Tech football transfer portal tracker: Who’s in, who’s out for the Red Raiders in the winter window?

The winter transfer portal has officially opened, meaning some players on the Texas Tech football team are going elsewhere and others are coming to Lubbock from elsewhere.

This round of the transfer portal officially begins on December 9th and ends on December 28th. Until then, players can request that their names be entered into the portal. However, you are only allowed to officially enter the portal after the deadline has expired. From then on, players can take as long as they want to decide their next move.

Another transfer portal window will open on April 16th and close on April 25th.

Texas Tech Football Transfer Portal Deductions

Micah Hudson, 6 feet, 195 pounds, WR

Hudson, who was the star recruit for the 2024 recruiting class last year, was rated as a five-star prospect and is expected to play a big role in Texas Tech’s offense. Instead, Hudson collected eight catches for 123 yards in eight games and missed the final four games of the regular season with a lower leg injury. His departure was reported by 247Sports on December 1st. He has three years of eligibility remaining and one redshirt year left.

Jalon Peoples, 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, DB

Peoples spent three years with the Red Raiders, redshirting in 2022 and appearing in seven games over the last two seasons. He did not see the field for Tech after the Sept. 21 game against Arizona State. Announced his departure via social media on December 1st. He still has two years of eligibility left.

Miles Thompson, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, DB

Thompson spent two years with the Red Raiders, redshirting in 2023 and not appearing in any games in 2024. On November 22nd, he announced his departure via Instagram. Three years of eligibility remain.
