Texas Tech Raiders DB CJ Baskerville calls out Arkansas player for profanity after stepping on him

CJ Baskerville was involved in the Liberty Bowl on Friday night as his Texas Tech took on Arkansas in Memphis, Tennessee. The cornerback had a great game against the Razorbacks, recording 10 tackles. However, the Red Raiders were unable to achieve a victory in this match.

On Saturday, Baskerville made an allegation on social media about an incident that occurred during the game. He explained in detail Fernando Carmona’s unsportsmanlike behavior towards him in the game as well as the offensive player’s use of inappropriate language.

“There’s no denying that Arkansas played a great game last night, I don’t take that away from them,” Baskerville wrote. “But #55 Fernando Carmona blatantly stepping on my ankle and deliberately pushing it down is just dirty. Proceeds read: “Got your asshole.” Do better @RazorbackFB”

Neither Carmona nor Arkansas have addressed CJ Bakersville’s claim. While the Red Raiders have not addressed the matter on behalf of their player, the Razorbacks are expected to address the situation publicly or internally.

Fans react to CJ Baskerville’s claim

The disclosure of the incident in Friday night’s game against CJ Baskerville has sparked many reactions from college football fans. Although not many took notice of the incident during the game, the cornerback’s claim opened many eyes.

While some fans are disappointed with Fernando Carmona’s actions in the games, others are unapologetic about it and consider it a sour cry after the team’s loss in the Liberty Bowl. Here’s a look at some of the reactions online:

Some more fans called out Carmona for his alleged behavior.

“This is complete nonsense, man. I’m sorry that happened. We are better than this man!” wrote one fan.

“He should face serious consequences for this crap. disgusting behavior. He and his team should be ashamed,” another fan wrote.

Others had no sympathy for CJ Baskerville after Carmona’s unsportsmanlike actions:

“You have played football all your life. I’m sure this isn’t the first time a player has been “mean” to you. And you tweeted about it instead of fighting back in the game. You missed your chance. Man up bro,” one fan wrote.

“Looks like he’s right. So soft. I’ve never in my life seen a major conference football player take to social media after a practice to post something like that. He shouldn’t have done it, but posting this is worse. It’s football. “If you’re a real player, things stay on the field,” another fan wrote.

It is currently unknown whether the agency in charge of the Liberty Bowl or the NCAA will take action on the incident following CJ Baskerville’s public complaint. How the governing bodies will handle the situation will be clearer in the next few days.
