The first 28 years later The trailer for the upcoming zombie film has been released.

“28 Years Later” is the upcoming sequel to 2002’s “28 Days Later,” which was followed by 2007’s “28 Weeks Later.” Danny Boyle, who co-directed the original film with Cillian Murphy, returns to direct the new post-apocalyptic project. Boyle co-wrote the script with Civil War’s Alex Garland.

What do we know about 28 years later?

28 Years Later with Jodie Comer (The Bikeriders), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), Jack O’Connell (Ferrari), Erin Kellyman (Solo: A Star Wars Story) and Edvin Ryding (Boy Royals). Murphy will also reprise his role as Jim from “28 Days Later” in the film, although it is unclear how big the character’s role will be.

Speaking to IndieWire in October 2024, Fiennes teased the film’s plot: “In Britain for 28 years there’s been this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid people and have a few pockets of uninfected communities.” At the center is a young boy , who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English countryside. But of course the infected are hiding around them in forests, hills and forests. But he finds a doctor who is a man we might think is strange and strange, but who is actually a force for good.”

Boyle’s upcoming sequel is the first film in a new trilogy. The film was shot alongside the second film in the series, directed by Candyman and The Marvels’ Nia DaCosta. A release date for this film has not been announced yet.

28 Years Later will be released in US theaters on June 20, 2025 by Sony Pictures Releasing.
