The Bears win in Green Bay and secure the Packers seventh place in the NFC playoffs

Green Bay will visit Philadelphia next week to begin the playoffs, where the Packers will have to play better than they did against the Bears today.

The Bears traveled to Green Bay today and scored a field goal as time expired to surprise the Packers 24-22.

The field goal came after the Packers made a field goal of their own to take a 22-21 lead. But the Bears moved into field goal range with two seconds left – and for once, the Bears didn’t blow the game at the end.

The Packers lost two of their most important players, quarterback Jordan Love and wide receiver Christian Watson, to injuries during the game. Love just hit his funny bone and appears to be OK, but Watson was left with a knee injury.

For the Bears, an ugly season ends with a win over their biggest rival. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams didn’t play particularly well today, but Chicago made some big plays on defense and special teams to get the win, and Williams did what he had to do on the final drive.

The Bears finish their season at 5-12 and now begin an offseason in which they will hire a head coach whose top priority must be developing Williams.

The Packers finish their regular season at 11-6 and need to win three road playoff games to get to the Super Bowl.
