The best red carpet looks at the 2025 Golden Globes

The red carpet at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles was ablaze with sparkling sequins and shimmering satin on Sunday as Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. And the evening’s standout fashion trend was right in line with the annual ceremony’s brand: gold.

From the glittering scales of “Anora” star Mikey Madison’s Bottega Veneta dress to Ariana Grande’s lavish 1960s Givenchy archival piece, a variety of golden hues and embellishments wowed visitors. Demi Moore and Mindy Kaling also got in on the action, wearing a sculptural Armani Privé outfit and an Ashi Studio column dress, respectively, while Cate Blanchett wowed in a custom Louis Vuitton gown embroidered with gold beads.

There were plenty of other metallic colors on display, including Angelina Jolie’s silver-beaded Alexander McQueen creation and model Cara Delevingne’s dazzling blue dress. But while many visitors opted for classic silhouettes in subtle colors, there were also bright color accents – especially red.

Dakota Fanning, nominated for her role in Ripley, turned heads in a strapless red Dolce & Gabbana bodice dress with a daring thigh slit. Elsewhere, comedian Ali Wong (in Balenciaga), Sheryl Lee Ralph (in Custom St. John) and Emma Stone (in Louis Vuitton) also impressed in shades ranging from ruby to burgundy.

The men of the evening, meanwhile, had fun eschewing the usual evening wear: Andrew Scott appeared in a striking baby blue suit by Vivienne Westwood and Timothée Chalamet wrapped his Tom Ford tie around his neck like a scarf. Others made a name for themselves with brooches, bows and accessories – perhaps nothing is more divisive than “Succession” actor Jeremy Strong’s velvet bucket hat.
