The Cleveland Browns got a much-needed turnover against the Denver Broncos when cornerback Greg Newsome II came away with a huge interception.

It was a hot start for Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix on Monday Night Football after he started the game with a few sharp passes. At the start of the second quarter, Brown’s star cornerback Denzel Ward was able to force one of those sharp throws with a deflection into the air, finally caught by Newsome II. This was out of character for the Browns’ secondary, as they typically don’t secure interceptions early in the game.

The Browns secondary needs to continue to force Nix to fit in those tight windows. After some misreporting early in the Broncos’ first drive, they appeared to tighten up their man and zone coverage. The passing game is the heart of the Broncos’ offense and will continue to be a focal point in their secondary and overall defensive scheme.

We’ll see if the Browns secondary can continue to reach its potential.
