The Buffalo Bills star confuses NFL fans after showing up to the game barefoot despite 23 inches of snow

Buffalo Bills star Mack Hollins stunned fans with the bizarre costume he wore to the team’s home game on Sunday (December 1).

Workers at the team’s Highmark Stadium in Buffalo, New York, had to dig out 20 to 23 inches of snow before their game against the San Francisco 49ers – but that didn’t affect Hollins’ outfit choice.

The official NFL account shared a video of the wide receiver’s appearance, which shows him dressed as a mad scientist and without shoes.

Hollins wore a white lab coat with green and yellow patterns, matching white pants and a large wig. He completed his look with black gloves and sunglasses.

Fans reacted to the barefoot look on X/Twitter.

“How do you walk barefoot in temperatures below 0 degrees,” someone wrote.

“Honestly, I thought he would wear some boots when the snow came. I don’t think so,” joked another.

“Mack Hollins: OUT (Frostbite),” a third joked, while a fourth added: “At least he wore gloves…”

Earlier this year, Hollins also admitted that he rarely wears shoes, whether at home, at work or even in public.

“Going without shoes, having wild hair, eating with your hands instead of utensils, things like that don’t bother anyone. That’s me,” he told a local Spectrum station in June. “That’s what makes me happy. Do the things in life that make you happy. Like I said, life is too short to worry about what other people think.”

On Sunday, Hollins contributed a first-half touchdown to the Bills’ win over the 49ers. In that game, the Bills won their fifth straight AFC East title by defeating the 49ers 35-10 in the snow.

Quarterback Josh Allen starred for the Bills as they moved to 10-2 as he became the first quarterback to score passing, rushing and receiving touchdowns in the same game. Jake Moody opened the scoring for San Francisco with a field goal, but Buffalo’s Ray Davis responded with a touchdown in the final seconds of the first period.

Several centimeters of lake-like snow fell in northern New York state over the weekend, including nearly 1.2 meters off Lake Ontario and in parts of Pennsylvania and Michigan. Lake effect snow is caused by warm, moist air blowing over a body of water and mixing with colder, drier air, creating narrow strips of often heavy snow on land.

The lake-effect storm began sweeping through the area Saturday near the Bills Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. Although the storm moved to the south of the stadium at midday on Sunday, it snowed intermittently throughout the day, with the storms becoming more severe just before kick-off.

The game was played in cool conditions, the playing temperature was 27 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 3 degrees Celsius) and the wind created a felt temperature of 17 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 8 degrees Celsius). The Bills often play in such conditions at home late in the season.
