The Chargers ended “Charging” in historic fashion against the Broncos

The Los Angeles Chargers would normally lose if they were down at the start of a game, right? Wrong, at least on Thursday evening. These aren’t the Chargers of old, unable to climb out of a hole. They found themselves in the exact same situation against rival Denver Broncos, trailing 21-13 at halftime.

The Broncos converted a field goal on their first possession of the second half to extend the lead to 11. The Chargers desperately needed to respond. They did just that, exploding to score 21 points and holding the Broncos to just six points in the final two quarters. It was a real accomplishment in all three phases as the Chargers are now eyeing a playoff spot.

Their comeback win ended a 13-game losing streak, according to Kris Rhim: “The Chargers had lost 13 straight games by double digits, the fifth-longest active streak in the NFL, but that streak was snapped by 11 points.” Comeback tonight.

Rhim also added that the Chargers beat the Broncos for the first time since 2020 and fifth time since the 1970 merger. When their backs were against the wall and their place in the postseason threatened by a loss, the Chargers fought back against the odds and proved they had come a long way in just 15 games.
