The Cleveland restaurant is praised on the Kelce brothers’ podcast

CLEVELAND, Ohio – On their latest episode of “New Heights,” Jason and Travis Kelce talk food – from the exotic meats they would eat to their favorite post-game meals.

Things got interesting when a University of Missouri football coach asked them about their favorite post-game foods.

Travis extolled the virtues of the pizza, while Jason said he had no preference for post-game meals.

“I just love eating pizza,” Travis said. “Man, I love just getting boxes of them and going through them one by one. But pizza might be my favorite food.”

“Yeah, pizza is hard to beat,” said Jason, who also voted for Popeye’s dark meat, red beans and apple pie.

“Often I just don’t eat anything, especially the food that the teams get after the game.

“Usually you just sit around and after games it’s terrible,” Jason said. “I usually take a protein shake, some creatine, then I’m straight.”

Jason: “Dude, we had a good one up there in Cleveland, Ohio – Ohio City Burrito.”

The burrito shop has locations in the Ohio City area, downtown Cleveland, Progressive Field and Lakewood.

Travis liked Jimmy John’s, but in Cincinnati there was Jersey Mike’s. And that sparked a tirade from Jason.

“It was (expletive) terrible,” Jason said. “It was so soaked it would have been sitting around. And Jersey Mike’s is good. I didn’t find out that Jersey Mike’s made good subs until years later.”

He added: “The fact that you’re not eating squirrel, but Jersey Mike’s subs that have been sitting around for hours just soaking up the hot salami and ham juices. …Dude, it was disgusting. Those sandwiches sucked.”

Travis: “You took too long a shower. You have to get them while they’re still hot.”

Jason: “Let me tell you, they’ve never been hot. They were bad sandwiches.”

The brothers from Cleveland Heights agreed on one thing: They enjoyed drinking a few garage beers after games. (Disclosure: They are investors in the Ohio-based brand.)

Before Sunday’s Ohio City burrito feast, Travis Kelce’s Chiefs defeated the Cleveland Browns 21-7 at Huntington Bank Field.
