The Colorado mountain town recorded a low of -27 | News

It was very cold in Colorado on Friday morning, especially in a northern mountain town.

The National Weather Service in Boulder compiled a list of low temperatures recorded across the state, and some communities started their day with temperatures below -20°C.

Fraser/Tabernash is known as one of the “Ice Boxes of Colorado,” along with Gunnison and Alamosa.

According to the National Weather Service, Colorado’s lowest recorded temperature was -61 degrees Fahrenheit in Maybell on February 1, 1985.

The record low temperature for today in Denver is -18 degrees Fahrenheit and was recorded on November 29, 1877.
