The Cowboys activate three corners ahead of Monday night’s game against the Bengals

The Dallas Cowboys return to the field on Monday night, but their roster will look a little different when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The club hasn’t taken the field since Thanksgiving, meaning the mini-bye is almost a second down this season. They deserve it after enduring two consecutive short weeks that took a toll on their injury status.

Dallas played at Houston on Monday night in Week 11 and then played at home on Sunday in Week 12, only to play on Thursday afternoon. Three games in 10 days is a lot to ask, especially late in the season. As a result, there have been some roster shakeups since the game against the Giants.

The recent revelation that nine-time All-Pro guard Zack Martin has opted out for the season has led to him being placed on IR. Cornerback Josh Butler is also out for the year. The two open roster spots are both filled by cornerbacks. Amani Oruwariye is activated from IR and Kemon Hall is permanently promoted from the practice squad.

Dallas is using just one of its raises this week, including bringing Andrew Booth off the practice squad. Adding three cornerbacks and only losing one is interesting, as many expected Trevon Diggs to return after missing the last few games. The club may move Isreal Mukuamu back to the safety role, as the only active players at the position currently are starters Donovan Wilson and Malik Hooker.

Here’s a look at the 54-man roster.
