Jay Norvell and his CSU Rams are heading to the Snoop Dogg Bowl.

The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl, to be exact.

The Rams (8-4) were invited early Sunday afternoon to play in the 2024 Arizona Bowl, marking the program’s first postseason appearance since December 2017.

CSU will face Miami of Ohio (8-5) in the Mid-American Conference.

The Arizona Bowl will be played at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Arizona and begins on Saturday, December 28th at 2:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the CW.

“We’re excited about the opportunity and excited to figure out where we go,” Norvell, in his third season at CSU, said last week. “And it’s going to be that for most of these guys (on the roster), we’ve got some experienced kids that haven’t played in bowl games yet – and we’re excited about that.”

However, Norvell has been to several, both as an assistant coach and head coach.

In Nevada, his Wolf Pack teams were invited to four bowls in Reno over five seasons. Norvell has a 2-1 postseason record as a head coach.

Nevada won the 2018 Arizona Bowl and the 2020 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl while losing the 2019 Potato Bowl. Norvell’s Wolf Pack also played in the 2021 Quick Lane Bowl, but he did not coach in that game after already accepting the CSU job.

The Arizona Bowl was renamed the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl Presented by Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop in May as part of a multi-year sponsorship with Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop, the two legendary rappers’ premium spirits company.
