The Detroit Lions set a single-season franchise record with their 13th win

The Detroit Lions continue to make franchise history in 2024 and are now sole champions with the most regular season wins, matching the franchise’s 95-year history.

With their 34:17 win against the Chicago Bears, the Lions have now reached the 13 win mark for the first time in franchise history. The 2024 Lions outperformed the 1991 and 2023 teams, which finished 12-4 and 12-5.

The Lions set the franchise record with a 12-4 season in 1991 and won the NFC Central Division for the first time since 1983, behind a 1,548-yard, 16-touchdown season from Barry Sanders. The Lions earned a bye in the first round before defeating the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round and losing to Washington in the NFC Championship Game.

On Sunday, the Lions also set the franchise record for points scored in a season, surpassing the Lions’ previous record of 474 points set in 2011. The Lions scored 475 points with Jameson Williams’ 82-yard touchdown pass, giving Detroit a 20-0 first-half victory. Detroit also surpassed the franchise mark for touchdowns in a season, 58, set last year.
