The Dolphins keep their postseason hopes alive with a 20-3 victory over the Browns

The Dolphins are still in the race for seventh place in the AFC.

Despite missing Tua Tagovailoa and Jaylen Waddle, Miami overwhelmed Cleveland with a 20-3 victory. This means there will be an important duel with the Jets next weekend.

Tyler Huntley started in Tagovialoa’s place and performed well. While the Dolphins only had a 6-3 lead over Cleveland at halftime, the Dolphins tied the game in the second half with a 13-yard rushing touchdown from Tyler Huntley and a 7-yard touchdown pass from Huntley to Jonnu Smith.

Huntley finished the game 22 of 26 for 225 yards. He also ran for 52 yards on seven carries, leading the team in that category.

Tyreek Hill also helped drive the offensive performance by intercepting all nine of his targets for 105 yards.

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was one of the team’s few bright spots on the day as he collected 2.0 sacks, making history. He became the first player in NFL history to record at least 14 sacks in four consecutive seasons, with the sack becoming official in 1982. He also became the third player to record at least 13 sacks in five of his first eight seasons, joining Reggie White and TJ Watt.

But other than that, the Browns were inferior. Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 24 of 47 passes for 170 yards with one interception and a lost fumble. He has now thrown six interceptions and zero touchdown passes this year. He is also the only quarterback since 2000 to throw 10 interceptions with one or no touchdowns in his career (he threw one touchdown last year).

Jerry Jeudy set a new career high with 12 catches and 94 yards.

The 8-8 Dolphins will be on the road to play the Jets next week. They need a win and then the Carson Wentz-led Chiefs must beat the Broncos to secure the No. 7 seed in the AFC.

A miserable 3-13 season is coming to an end for the Browns. They will face the Ravens in Week 18.
