The Duchess of Sussex embodies classic elegance in Oscar de la Renta

One thing is certain about the Duchess of Sussex: she always creates an unforgettable ensemble on the red carpet. Last night was no different as Meghan looked every bit the duchess at the Paley Honors Fall Gala at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles.

The Queen attended the event to support her friend Tyler Perry, in whose honor the event was held. She hit the red carpet in a strapless black Oscar de la Renta dress with subtle ruffles at the sweetheart neckline, a high slit at the front, and an elegant train that gathered behind her as she walked. The slit dress revealed a pair of subtle black Celine sandals, while Meghan decided to forgo a bag for the event.

The Duchess paired the classic black dress with delicate jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz and Engender, accessorizing it with a diamond necklace and a mix of diamond and gold rings. She also wore one of her favorite pieces, a single gold Cartier Love bracelet, which is often seen on her wrist.

The look was a collaboration between the Duchess and her stylist Jamie Mizrahi. Mizrahi, whose A-list clients include Jennifer Lawrence and Adele, has a strong portfolio of fashion stars in simple but modern pieces, making her a perfect match for Meghan, who often opts for classic, feminine designs. The Duchess has previously worn Oscar de la Renta while on tour with the Duke of Sussex, with Carolina Herrera proving to be another of her favorite red carpet designers.

Markle looked radiant with a fresh face that highlighted her glowing skin and added a touch of blush and a pink glossy lip for a minimalist approach to her makeup. Adding an undone element to her overall look, her beauty contrasted the elegant dress by wearing her hair in a loose bun with trailing tendrils on either side framing the face.
