The Edward Jones Main Street office is continuing to support pets this year as part of the Humane Society of Huron Valley’s Day of Caring and hopes the Manchester community can help again!

This is the second annual Day of Caring that Senior Branch Administrator Tammy James has attended and it won’t be her last! Tammy enjoys working for a company that gives employees a paid “Day of Caring” to volunteer for a cause they care about.

Last year, she says, “I had to drop off a full truck of donations while doing my Day of Caring service at the Humane Society of Huron Valley. It was a great day and the shelter was so grateful for all the towels, blankets, food and other items I was able to take with me!”

There is a drop box available in the lobby to accept donations for the items listed below.

  • Used or new bath towels (The bigger the better! Washcloths are fine, but no hand towels please.)
  • Small blankets and pet beds that can be washed in a regular washing machine.
  • Flat sheets.
  • Kuranda Beds for Dogs and Cats – We specifically need 40×25 Metal Kuranda Beds for Dogs!
  • Cat toys – toy mice (WITHOUT catnip) and anything with feathers!
  • Pet food in the original bag/can up to 3 months after expiry date.
  • Scoopable cat litter.
  • Canned dog food. (They love the yellow Pedigree cans of ground beef!)
  • Waterless pet shampoo.
  • Alcohol (must be 70% CLEAR alcohol – no smell).
  • Liquid Vicks Solution (for steam evaporators).
  • Meters of fleece for animal projects.
  • Ziploc bags – both gallon and quart sizes.
  • Gift cards from places like Amazon.comPet stores and office supply stores

Please consider making a donation of these items beginning Monday, December 2nd through the first two weeks of December when Tammy expects to drop off another large truckload of treats and helpful items at the shelter. The boxes will be put to good use by pets in need and their caregivers!
