The Supercoppa Italiana 2024/25 continues, Juventus meets Milan in Riyadh.

Here’s everything you need to know before this delicious encounter.

Where and when does the game take place?

The second semi-final of the Supercoppa Italiana 2025 will take place on January 3 between Coppa Italia winners Juventus and Serie A runners-up Milan.

The game starts at 10:00 p.m. local time (8:00 p.m. CET) and, like the other semi-finals and the final, will be played in the newly built Kingdom Arena.

The 30,000-capacity Riyadh venue opened in October 2023 and is also home to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. It holds two Guinness World Records: the largest covered football stadium in the world and the highest capacity for a covered indoor stadium.

In 2023, the Supercoppa Italiana broke away from the traditional format that pitted the winner of the Scudetto against the winner of the Coppa Italia and switched to a four-team format.

This pits the two best players in Serie A against the Coppa Italia finalists, who, interestingly enough, are the best four in Serie A from last season.

Juventus secured their ticket to Saudi Arabia by winning the Coppa Italia last May, while Milan reached the semi-finals of the Supercoppa by finishing second in Serie A.

The Turkish youngster is enjoying a successful season and appears to be relishing the responsibility given to him by Thiago Motta.

Winning the Golden Boy Web Award in December shows the esteem in which he is held and it appears he will be a cornerstone of the Bianconeri front for years to come.

He is also the first goalscorer ever in the redesigned group stage of the Champions League.

The Portuguese star, who was Serie A MVP not long ago, is having a difficult season under compatriot Paulo Fonseca.

He is no longer a guaranteed starter and is on the sidelines, but has shown he is still capable of tormenting defenses when given the opportunity.

This clash could be the perfect opportunity to regain some trust and confidence.

Who are the trainers?

Thiago Motta (Juventus)

The new man in the Old Lady’s dugout has only recently felt the heat after getting off to a very impressive start built on outstanding defensive performances.

Motta earned the job in Turin because he led Bologna to the Champions League in the modern format for the first time in its history.

Some disappointing blips in November and December led to criticism, but he would go a long way to winning back fans by lifting his first piece of silverware.

Less than a week ago it seemed as if under-fire Milan coach Paulo Fonseca would survive the heat long enough to take his team to Saudi Arabia.

But a disappointing draw against his former club Roma on Sunday led to his dismissal (which came after a poor start) and he was quickly replaced by compatriot Sergio Conceiรงรฃo.

The highly-rated tactician has been out of work since ending a successful seven-year spell at Porto in the summer and his first game as Rossoneri coach is against Juventus in Riyadh.

In the 2003 Champions League final, the clubs played each other in the first all-Italian game ever. A tense affair at Old Trafford produced no goals before Milan won on penalties.
