The Hall of Presidents question

The Hall of Presidents question

It’s time to address the elephant in the room.

The elephant in question is the Hall of Presidents.

It was just announced that the Hall of Presidents attraction at the Magic Kingdom will be closing on January 25th for “renovations.” However, no reopening date was announced, which struck me as odd.

Why?

Well, it’s not like they need time to create a new animatronic character for the president-elect. They already have an animatronic of Donald Trump.

Additionally, I imagine those fantasizing know exactly how long it would take to replace multiple animatronic figures to reopen the attraction… but no timeline has been announced.

So what does that mean?

Well, here are my thoughts. Maybe, just maybe, we only have about a month left to tour the Hall of Presidents before the attraction disappears forever! That’s right. FOREVER!

When visiting Walt Disney World this year, guests will notice that while visiting the Hall of Presidents, they noticed several security guards throughout the attraction… near the entrance and in the foyer.

Hmmm. Why is that?

After the 2016 election and in 2017, changes to the attraction required a security presence, such as preventing unwanted guest actions.

Unfortunately, this feeling has become so widespread that the appeal has been on thin ice for the past seven years.

The idea that an announced closure comes without a reopening timeframe speaks volumes about whether or not we will even see a return to this attraction as we know it.

There has been a lot of talk about what might happen to this nearly 50-year-old attraction.

We can all speculate and that includes me. I don’t like the fact that an attraction could evoke emotions that would require a security presence and it’s sad to think about. Then perhaps it is time to retire such an attraction.

Walt Disney World, Disneyland, all Disney locations are there to help us leave the real world behind and not remember aspects of the real world that stress us out.

Unfortunately, the Hall of Presidents has become a stress inducer and I feel like we need to say goodbye.

What happens now? Well, maybe we need to lighten the mood as the Muppets take over the Hall of Presidents and give us a history lesson like only the Muppets can.

Who knows what discussions will take place behind closed doors, but I know that a decision must be made so that the Magic Kingdom can truly remain the happiest place on earth.

Just my opinion!

See you next time.
