BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – Ferris State’s Trinidad Chambliss scored three touchdowns as the Bulldogs defeated Harding 41-7 in an NCAA Division II quarterfinal playoff game Saturday at Top Taggart Field.

Ferris State (12-1) took control early and scored on its first two possessions to take a 13-0 halftime lead. Chambliss scored on an 8-yard run and threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to James Gilbert.

The Bulldogs extended their lead to 20-0 at halftime after recovering a Harding fumble that led to a 1-yard touchdown run by Kannon Katzer.

Ferris State continued to increase its lead in the second half, scoring on a 4-yard touchdown run from Chambliss on its first drive. The Bulldogs added two more touchdowns, including a 12-yard pass from Chambliss to Gilbert and a 7-yard run by Katzer.

Harding (12-2) got on the board after an 11-yard touchdown run with 4:35 left Cole Keyloncapping an 80-yard drive.

Blake Delacruz Harding led the way with 43 rushing yards, while Keylon added 36 yards on nine carries and a touchdown. Harding cornerback Jeremiah Jordan set a school record with four pass breakups in the game.

Ferris State advances to the national semifinals next week as Harding’s season comes to an end.
