The Hawks’ Bogdan Bogdanovic joins the exclusive Stephen Curry-led club against the Lakers

“With 3 o’clock in the first quarter tonight, Bogdan Bogdanović of the (Hawks) has now reached at least 1:00 in 100 consecutive games, becoming the fourth player (fifth instance) in NBA history to do so,” reads the account posted on X, formerly Twitter. “He joins: Stephen Curry (2x), Damian Lillard and (and) Kyle Korver.”

Bogdanovic is in his fifth season with the Hawks and has been one of their best three-point shooters alongside Trae Young. He has achieved great success for the Hawks and will continue to do so as long as he is with the team.

Being mentioned in the same sentence as Stephen Curry is astonishing and shows how great an achievement it is to hit a three-pointer in almost every game you play. Also on the list is Kyle Korver, a former Hawk who now works in the team’s front office.

The Hawks have been playing some good basketball lately, and most of the success has come from how well the bench has played. Bogdan Bogdanovic, De’Andre Hunter, Onyeka Okongwu and Kobe Bufkin led the second unit and did a good job together as a unit.

Bogdanovic had one of his best games of the season in the Hawks’ final game against the Milwaukee Bucks, finishing the game with 15 points and five steals.

Not only has Bogdanovic been playing well, but Hunter has been on the rise, leading the league in bench points per game. After his game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Hunter shared what has been working well for him lately.

“It’s just the work I put in,” Hunter said. “The coach tells me to shoot more, even when I think I’ve shot a lot, he keeps telling me to shoot more. I just have that confidence and that of my teammates. Trae finds me, (Jalen Johnson) finds me, it’s just up to me to make the attempt.”

His teammates, including Trae Young, have also enjoyed his play this season.

“De’Andre is aggressive and we all tell him to be aggressive,” Young said. “We need him to be aggressive for us. Whenever he shoots, we believe he’s coming in and he takes great shots. Nothing is forced, he just plays the right way. He could have done 20, 30 shots on his birthday and we would have been okay with that. But for him to come out here and still be efficient and play the right way and play defense, that was a heck of a performance from Dre.”

If the bench can continue to play at a high level, the Hawks can be a team that belongs at the top of the Eastern Conference.
