The Heat’s relationship with Bam Adebayo has linked them to trading for an All-Star guard

Whether it’s a deal with the Miami Heat or securing Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline, there’s a star who could potentially be on the market and fit both schedules.

Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox could see a change of scenery as early as the trade deadline, considering the team is the No. 12 seed in the Western Conference with a 13-18 record. Although Heat center Bam Adebayo isn’t contributing in the scoring department like he has in years past, he could be the main reason Miami’s front office is able to acquire Fox.

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon shared on The Hoop Collective that the Heat are among the teams that could pursue a blockbuster trade for the one-time All-Star.

“If this turns out like reading the tea leaves, Fox will ask out,” MacMahon said. “If you’re doing podcasts with Draymond and kind of laying the groundwork when he invites San Antonio, Houston, keep an eye on those two. I heard Miami with the Bam connection there. Who knows which ones.” If it happens, the teams will actually be contenders.

As already mentioned, the 27-year-old is a perfect fit for the Heat and their system. Not only could he help Butler, Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Co. compete for a championship this season, but he could also play with the younger two of the Heat’s Big Three for years to come.
