The Jets were eliminated from the playoffs, extending the NFL’s worst postseason drought

The New York Jets’ difficult season has reached a new low – but one that the franchise has long been familiar with.

With Sunday’s 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Jets (3-10) were officially eliminated from the playoffs, tying the NFL’s longest active postseason drought – and the worst in the organization’s history Extended for 14 seasons. The stretch is the 12th longest in league history.

New York’s ninth straight losing season ended last Sunday with a 26-21 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Aaron Rodgers’ return from a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered just four shots in his debut season with New York raised high hopes that an end to the blunders was finally within reach. But after a 2-1 start, the Jets’ season descended into a series of setbacks and desperate attempts to regain relevance.
