The Lakers could cut ties with Dalton Knecht in favor of the Kings’ 3 million superstar

The Lakers could cut ties with Dalton Knecht in favor of the Kings’ $163 million superstar

Although the Los Angeles Lakers are finally parting ways with an unpredictable player in D’Angelo Russell, they are still missing a reliable point guard.

It would be ideal for the franchise to sign a superstar from the Sacramento Kings who needs a fresh start.

“The addition of De’Aaron Fox to the mix gives the Lakers one of the most balanced Big Three in the NBA,” Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World wrote on Sunday.

“Fox’s explosiveness and ability to attack the rim takes pressure off of LeBron James and Anthony Davis on offense.”

“The dynamic point guard, who can push the pace and take offense to new levels, is averaging an impressive 26.3 points, 6.3 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 48.1% this season shoots on the field.”

“His speed and scoring ability make him a perfect complement to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.”

“LeBron James, who is still averaging 23.5 points, 9.0 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game, would benefit greatly from Fox’s ability to break through defenses and create easy opportunities.”

“Meanwhile, Anthony Davis, averaging 26.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks, would thrive with the additional space Fox provides.”

“This trio, combining veteran expertise with Fox’s speed, gives the Lakers the versatility needed to dominate their opponents in the playoffs.”

“Beyond just talent, with this move the Lakers address a critical need: durability. While LeBron and AD have both struggled with injuries in recent years, Fox’s youth and endurance provide some insurance.”

“His ability to take over games on both ends ensures the Lakers remain competitive even if one of their stars has to miss time.”

“With Fox in the squad, the Lakers are not only securing a squad capable of fighting for the title, but are also laying the foundation for sustainable success in the transition to the post-LeBron era.”

Fox is enjoying an All-Star season in Sacramento, but the Kings can’t say they’re having a stress-free season.

After an unacceptable 13-18 start with a contending roster, Kings head coach Mike Brown was relieved of his duties last Friday.

There are rumors that Fox and Brown did not have the closest player-coach relationship, which may have contributed to the early dismissal of the 2023 NBA Coach of the Year.

With a change of scenery, the 6-foot-2 speed demon would have the opportunity to join a Lakers organization with legitimate championship aspirations.

Unfortunately, Bitar’s trade proposal would require the Lakers to move on from a promising 23-year-old rookie in Dalton Knecht to receive Fox.

However, if Los Angeles decides to sign the former Kentucky star, Knecht will have to continue his career in Sacramento.
