The Latest on Roki Sasaki’s Decision, Red Sox Offseason Update | Baseball Bar B Cast

The free agency conundrum surrounding Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki is becoming clearer after teams expressed interest in the young, rising star’s talents. With the international signing period fast approaching, we may know sooner rather than later what fate Sasaki will achieve.

Jordan Shusterman is joined by guest host Kiley McDaniel of ESPN as they take a look at the latest news surrounding Sasaki, including which teams made their pitch, why some teams apparently didn’t bother and why the San Diego Padres apparently did need pitching talent in their rotation more than anyone else.

Also in this episode Baseball Bar B Cast, Jordan is joined by Chris Cotillo, Boston Red Sox beat writer for MassLive, as they take a look at the work the Red Sox have done so far this offseason, what their opening day starting lineup will look like, what prospects to keep an eye on should keep and remember the 2020 season. Later, Jordan and Kiley talk about the recent moves of the Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates, as well as the Chicago Cubs’ move for Vidal Bruján and the Tampa Bay Rays, the hope to win gold with the signing of Eloy Jiménez.
