Hello friends! I’m Kelsey, your guide to all things pop culture for Yahoo Entertainment, and this is the It listour weekly overview of news and noteworthy things. In it, I recommended a number of upcoming releases to watch, stream, listen to, read and binge. I’ll introduce you to my favorites.

🎥 The brutalist stands out big

  • When: The brutalist can be seen in select cinemas on December 20th.

  • What you should know: If you pay attention to critics at all, you’ve probably heard about them. It’s about an architect who survives the Holocaust and pursues the American dream. (IndieWire/Variety)

  • Why I recommend: Over the course of 215 minutes, including an intermission, the immigrant experience is beautifully and tragically addressed. Star Adrien Brody told me it meant a lot to him as the child of a Hungarian refugee. (Yahoo Entertainment)
