The Mega Millions lottery jackpot rises to $541 million after yet another no big winner

Lottery players may be dreaming of a big Christmas present as the Mega Millions jackpot rises to approximately $541 million in Tuesday night’s drawing.

The Dec. 3 jackpot was increased after no lottery player nationwide matched all six winning numbers in Friday night’s drawing.

The winning numbers on Friday were: 3, 29, 34, 37 And 38with the Mega Ball from 17. The Megaplier was 2x.

One lucky winner purchased a ticket worth $1 million because it matched all five numbers in the main ticket, but not the Mega number. According to the official Mega Millions website, the ticket was sold in Oregon.

Tuesday night’s jackpot will be very close to making the top 10 biggest prizes in Mega Millions history. The 10th largest prize was $552 million, with a winning ticket sold on June 4 in Illinois.

The Mega Millions lottery was launched in September 1996 under a different name, the Big Game. The name was changed to Mega Millions in May 2002 after more states joined the lottery game.

Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday in New Jersey and 44 other states, as well as Washington, DC and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
