SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – The MLS playoffs have been narrowed down to four teams as the battle for the MLS Cup heats up. Next Saturday the Conference Finals will decide the matchup for the finals.

In the west, Seattle Sounders FC (4th seed) traveled to Los Angeles and defeated first seed LAFC 2-1. Seattle conceded in the 50th minute, but equalized with an own goal just nine minutes later and Jordan Morris scored the winner in overtime.

The Seattle squad has a strong Real Salt Lake connection, starting with former RSL captain Albert Rusnak anchoring the midfield. Behind the scenes, the team was built by former RSL general manager Craig Waibel, and former RSL head coach Freddy Juarez serves as an assistant. Former RSL striker Danny Musovski is returning from injury but could be available next week.

Seattle will travel to Los Angeles again to face the second-place LA Galaxy. The Galaxy defeated visiting Minnesota United United 6-2 in a heated affair that featured 30 fouls and 6 cards, including a red card for Minnesota defender Jefferson Diaz, who received a second yellow card in the 82nd minute.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Conference, the New York Red Bulls (7th seed) reached the conference finals by going on the road and defeating 6th seed NYCFC 2-0 behind first-half goals from Felipe Carballo and Dante Vanzeir . NYCFC had over 70% possession and 25 shots but couldn’t beat Red Bull goalkeeper Carlos Coronel.

The Red Bulls previously eliminated reigning MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew and will now travel south to face Orlando City SC.

Orlando City (4th seed) beat Atlanta United FC 1-0. Ramiro Enrique decided the game by converting a corner kick in the 39th minute and Atlanta couldn’t find an answer.

The conference finals will air this Saturday, November 30th on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. New York Red Bulls vs. Orlando City SC is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and Seattle Sounders vs. LA Galaxy at 8:00 p.m. The winners will compete in the MLS Cup finals on December 7th and compete for the league’s ultimate prize.
