The NFC field could reach the final spots

At least one side of the NFL playoffs will remain unsettled heading into Week 18, as several teams are all vying for the final spot in the AFC field. However, the NFC could decide all of its participants once Week 17 is completed.

Two of the final spots in the conference depend on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers losing to the Carolina Panthers, as the result would secure at least a wild card spot for the Washington Commanders. This result would also open the window for the Atlanta Falcons to seal the NFC South with a win over the Commanders on “Sunday Night Football.” Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams could take home the NFC West title and avoid a winner-take-all battle for the division title against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18, but only if there are multiple outcomes Tiebreakers lead to a win. And while the conference’s top seed is still up for grabs, the Detroit Lions could clinch it with a win Monday night over the San Francisco 49ers and a Minnesota Vikings loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
