The Ohio State Buckeyes QB could be headed to the SEC powerhouse

The Ohio State Buckeyes are expected to lose quarterback Devin Brown to the NCAA transfer portal this offseason. He recently announced the decision and will leave the team after the College Football Playoff.

Brown is an interesting quarterback option for schools looking for help. There are a number of teams across the country that could be interested in him.

One possible destination that was talked about was the Indiana Hoosiers.

Staying with Indiana in the Big Ten would give Brown a chance to start for a College Football Playoff team and potentially play against Ohio State as well.

Another team was brought up as a potential target. That team is the SEC powerhouse LSU Tigers.

Wynston Wilcox from Fan sided made the suggestion in a recent column.

“It would be déjà vu for Ryan Day if Devin Brown went to LSU, became a starter and had success at LSU. First it was Joe Burrow and then Devin Brown. That would be the ultimate slap in the face to a coach known for getting good quarterbacks.

Landing at LSU may not be the most likely option for Brown, but they can’t be ruled out. If head coach Brian Kelly believes Brown could help them compete for a national championship, he wouldn’t hesitate to bring him in.

As his career as the Buckeyes’ quarterback officially comes to an end, Brown will end his tenure after playing three years at Ohio State.

He completed 26 of his 47 career passes for 325 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Brown also tallied 37 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Seeing him go is bittersweet. He was a quarterback that the Buckeyes believed could develop into a good starter, but he just never quite got there.

Hopefully, as long as Brown doesn’t play Ohio State, he can find a good landing spot where he can start and succeed. He did well for the Buckeyes and the fan base will continue to hope for him to succeed wherever he ends up.

The Tigers may not end up being interested, but they are certainly an elite team that could make sense.
