The showdown between the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17 will be watched by a larger television audience. On Monday, the NFL scheduled the important NFC North battle from 12:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday, December 29th.

Packers-Vikings will be “America’s Game of the Week” on FOX in Week 17, meaning Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady will be tuning in from the booth at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The game was originally scheduled for midday. Given the implications for the playoffs, the NFL has added it to FOX’s top schedule, broadcasting the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys from 3:25 p.m. CT to 12 p.m.

A nationwide audience can be expected. There is only one conflicting game during Sunday’s late afternoon time slot, which is a CBS game between the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns with kickoff at 3:05 p.m.

The Vikings are 13-2 and have already secured a spot in the playoffs. The Packers enter Monday night at 10-4 and can secure a spot in the playoffs with a win over the Saints. While the Packers are eliminated from contention in the NFC North, the winner next Sunday could be the No. 5 seed in the NFC playoffs. The Vikings are still in the hunt for the division title.

Last year, the Packers defeated the Vikings on New Year’s Eve at US Bank Stadium. Minnesota won 31-29 in Green Bay in Week 4.
