It’s been over 25 years since George Lucas tapped Jake Lloyd to play the young Anakin Skywalker Star Wars: The Phantom Menacebut the actor has struggled with a variety of mental and legal issues since his appearance in the franchise. Just last year, Lloyd’s mother Lisa shed some light on his mental health struggles, which included a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia and a full-blown psychotic breakdown in the middle of a busy street.

Fortunately, we now have very good news. Journalist Clayton Sandell recently spoke with Lloyd, who completed an 18-month stay at an inpatient psychiatric facility in Southern California.
