The Pittsburgh Steelers legends are missing out on the 2025 Hall of Fame class

Neither James Harrison nor Hines Ward will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2025. The Pittsburgh Steelers legends didn’t make the list of 15 finalists on Saturday, forcing them to wait at least another year before being called up to Canton, Ohio.

Both players were in the semi-finals, but the strength of their positions in this division meant they were left out this time.

Harrison was part of the legendary 2000s defense that helped the Steelers win two straight Super Bowls. Known as “Deebo,” Harrison dominated the AFC North for years after the Steelers signed him as an undrafted free agent. In his third year of Hall of Fame eligibility, Harrison was a four-time All-Pro selection and retired as the franchise’s leading sacks player. Cameron Heyward and TJ Watt have since taken over. Harrison won the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year award.

Ward won two Super Bowls with the Steelers during his 14-year career with the team. The Korean-born Ward excelled as a blocker and receiver, earning Super Bowl XL MVP and three All-Pro nominations.
