Atlanta-based rapper OG Maco has died, according to multiple reports.

He was 32.

In a post on his Instagram, the “U Guessed It” rapper’s death was officially announced by his family, who referred to him by his real name, Benedict Ihesiba Jr.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved Ben, known to the world as OG Maco,” the post reads. “His life was a testament to resilience, creativity and boundless love. Through his music, his passion and his unwavering spirit, he touched so many lives and left a lasting impression.”

“As we mourn this immense loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived – one that will continue to inspire and uplift others.”

The family’s message went on to tell fans that the DMs on his account were ready to express their condolences and reach out to the family, and that their support “means more than words can express.”

The cause of death is not yet known. On December 16, the family posted a short message informing people that the rapper was in the hospital and in “critical but stable condition.”

“We would like to inform OG Maco’s fans, friends and supporters that he is currently in critical but stable condition,” the statement read. “He is receiving the best possible care and we remain confident as he continues to fight. At this point we politely ask you to respect our privacy. However, if you would like to send messages or share something with the family, please reach out via DM.”

In 2016, the rapper was in a serious car accident in which he lost his eye, as TheBoomBox reported, and years later in 2019, he revealed that he was suffering from a “skin-eating disease” after being mistreated for a rash was.

Maco grew up in the College Park area of ​​Atlanta. His debut mixtape “Marty McFly” was released in 2011.
