The power outage early Tuesday morning affected nearly 1,000 Georgia Power customers in northern Hall County

Georgia Power officials have confirmed that a fallen tree during the early morning rainstorm is responsible for knocking out power across much of the city of Clermont for nearly three hours.

Georgia Power told AccessWDUN that the fallen tree knocked out the main power line to Clermont residents just after 2 a.m. on Dec. 10, resulting in an outage for nearly 1,000 customers along SR-52, Cleveland Highway (129th). ) and many side roads led these routes.

Georgia Power workers were able to fully restore power to the city shortly after 5:00 a.m. this morning, with no reports of further damage or injuries.

An early morning power outage in northern Hall County left about 1,000 Georgia Power customers in the dark.

There is no recent news from local authorities about what caused the outage along Highway 129 near the White County line during the night and early morning in and around the town of Clermont.

Georgia Power officials are working to restore power, but commuters and residents are advised to plan accordingly.
