Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman was trying to talk about a crucial play late in a 23-10 victory over Georgia in the College Football Playoff when struggling Irish quarterback Riley Leonard politely interrupted him.

Freeman talked about the crowd change before the punt that caused Georgia to go offside and gave the Irish a first down. He was talking about proper preparation and taking advantage of opportunities when Leonard interrupted him and said Freeman was humble.

Leonard added that the play came from Freeman and the Irish originally planned to do it differently until Freeman changed it a day or two before the game. Freeman sheepishly tried to get Leonard to quit, but Leonard continued to say Freeman was humble before saying, in Freeman’s words, that it was a “great call, great execution.”
