The Quad Cities region could see showers late Wednesday afternoon into the evening hours

QUAD CITIES, IA/Illinois. (KWQC) —

***FIRST ALARM DAY THURSDAY FOR AREAS WITH MORNING FOG***

Thick fog has moved into the region, causing some headaches on area roads this morning. There is a FIRST ALARM DAY until the early hours of the morning. In addition to the fog, we cannot rule out occasional drizzle. Temperatures will rise into the mid 40s. As we head into the evening hours, temperatures appear to remain stable as our next weather maker approaches.

Friday will be a warmer day, but a wet day. Rain showers are expected throughout the day. We’ll stay well above freezing, which means, apart from possible reduced visibility and aquaplaning, we won’t have to worry about slippery patches or icy roads. As the weekend begins, the rain will ease and temperatures will remain well above average. Precipitation begins at the beginning of the working week. This will ultimately bring an end to our phase of well above average weather.

THURSDAY: Dense fog in the morning followed by cloudy skies. High: 44º. Winch: Light and variable

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Low: 42º.

FRIDAY: Showers likely. High: 49º

FIRST Alert Days are issued to inform you of adverse, hazardous or potentially hazardous weather in our observation area – weather that could impact you and your family. Look for regular updates on air, online, on our social media platforms and in the QC Weather app.
