The running back duo is making a strong case for Georgia

In a turbulent running back room, Georgia counted on Nate Frazier and Cash Jones in Georgia’s eighth overtime win against Georgia Tech. Frazier and Jones both had crucial performances in overtime, with starter Trevor Etienne sidelined with a rib injury.

Both Frazier and Jones stepped up in the passing and running games to help the Bulldogs to their 44-42 win.

Cash Jones stepped up in key moments, blocking in the passing game or serving as a backup defender.

Against Georgia Tech, Jones acted as a security blanket all night, turning those checkdowns into first downs for the offense. He was Carson Beck’s most reliable receiver all night.

Jones’ biggest hit was the 25-yard wheel route that turned into a touchdown in the second overtime. Jones finished the game with four receptions, a team-leading 53 yards and a touchdown. This is the sixth game in which Jones has had more than 20 receiving yards this season.

Nate Frazier was a constant bright spot when times looked bleak, when the offense couldn’t get anything going.

Frazier has scored a touchdown when touching the football 10 or more times in all but one game. Frazier finished the Georgia Tech game with 13 touchdowns, 68 yards and one touchdown.

In overtime, Frazier lost the offense. In the eighth overtime, Frazier finally got his hands on the ball. He ended the game when he found a cutback lane and scored the game-winning two-point conversion.
