“I feel like we did a good job of collapsing the pockets and going after Rodgers narrowly, and then the coverage also did a great job of attacking the footballs,” Rousseau said.

CB Christian Benford and DT Jordan Phillips had INTs, both in completely different ways. Rousseau directed a pass to the line and Phillips made a heads-up play to keep his eyes open, running under the ball after it was thrown into the air.

“Beautiful, soft hands too. It was so smooth and fit just right in his hands,” Oliver said of the big man INT.

In the second half, Benford jumped in front of a pass and returned it 24 yards. Rodgers pushed Benford out of bounds late, which resulted in a 15-yard penalty. Five plays later, the Bills got an incredible 30-yard catch from Amari Cooper.

“I think we did a good job as a back seven of masking up and because we masked up and let (Rodgers) blink a little bit and gave our rusher a chance to get back there,” CB Taron Johnson said.

Buffalo’s dominant defense capped the day with a sack fumble by Oliver and a recovery by Milano. McDermott presented Milano with a game ball in the team’s victory speech after the game.

“Milano almost had a touchdown but had a great recovery and kept playing there,” McDermott said.

Rodgers, who needed one career touchdown pass to reach 500, was substituted for former Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor late in the fourth quarter. Rodgers finished his day completing 12 of 18 passes for 112 yards, two INTs and was sacked four times.
