🎥 Night slut sinks into motherhood

  • When: Night slut hits theaters on December 6th.

  • What you should know: The film is about a mother who struggles with her identity after putting her career on hold to raise her young son. She could also turn into a dog at night. (Diversity)

  • Why I recommend it: Amy Adams said she incorporated her own experiences into her portrayal of the exhausted woman known only as “Mother.” The character has a serious edge and is unlikable at times, which is honestly refreshing. (The Hollywood Reporter/IndieWire)

🎧 Jeff Daniels tells his life story

  • When: “Alive and Well Enough” continues is now available on Audible.

  • What you should know: In the second season of his audio memoir podcast, Daniels explores his past through songs and sketches, delving into his craft and how he got to where he is now. (Detroit Free Press)

  • Why I’m listening: The podcast is produced by his son, making each episode feel even more like a loving father dutifully distilling life lessons. You can really tell that Daniels loves what he does.

▶️ Girls Gone Wild: The Untold Story sheds light on an infamous brand

  • When: All three episodes of Girls Gone Wild: The Untold Story are now streaming on Peacock.

  • What you should know: The documentaries provide a look behind the scenes of the infamous man Girls gone wild Franchise. It includes interviews with the survivors and former employees, as well as the show’s creator, Joe Francis, who now lives in exile. (People/Rolling Stone)

  • Why I recommend it: While the series itself is certainly remembered for its transgressive and suggestive content, it is also relevant now because it shaped so much of our current cultural attitudes toward sex work and influencers, as reporter Scaachi Koul explains in the first episode of the documentaries . ▶️ That is Pop Culture Danger!

  • When: The first three episodes of Pop Culture Danger! are now available on Prime Video.

  • What you should know: If you love Danger! But know more about pop stars than geopolitics, this new spin-off hosted by SNLColin Jost is the one for you. (Rolling Stone)

  • Why I recommend it: Both refreshing and familiar, it follows the same format as the original show – except that contestants compete as teams of three with fun names, rather than racing alone. (USA Today)


▶️ Black pigeons gets to work

  • When: All six episodes of Black pigeons are now streaming on Netflix.

  • What you should know: Kiera Knightley stars in this dark (and sometimes funny) thriller as a spy who teams up with an old friend to seek revenge on her lover’s murderer. (Rolling Stone)
