This weekend will see the coldest air of the season

Intense cold weather heading into parts of South Carolina, snow possible in the mountains

A cold weekend is in store for upstate South Carolina, with even colder air heading in early next week. Friday will be clear and colder. Highs of 51 degrees but feeling like the 40s. Saturday will be windy and very cold, with wind chills in the 15 to 20 degrees in the morning. Saturday and Sunday will be dry and cool, with highs in the 40s and lows below freezing. Hard frosts are likely from Sunday night into next week as the cold air persists. Some snow is possible in the mountains north of Asheville Saturday through Sunday.
