Thomas Rhett shares beautiful new unreleased song “Stubborn”

After Thomas Rhett released fourteen loving, heartwarming songs as part of his 2024 year, which he dedicated to his wife Lauren About a woman Some listeners speculated that he might want to try different thematic material on his next project.

But let’s be honest, TR is at his best when he lovingly sings to his wife, and luckily, it looks like there are plenty more songs to sing about his marriage. Although he knows his way around a fast beat and a catchy chorus better than anyone, Thomas Rhett is in his element as he delivers soulful, heartfelt reflections on love on a sparse, noodling acoustic guitar.

In a brand new snippet titled “Stubborn,” the Georgia native lists a number of instances where something could be described this way, such as “a horse that doesn’t want to be broke,” “the smell of cigarette smoke.” or… “a wrench in a railroad track.”

Finally, in a classic Nashville songwriting turn, Thomas Rhett portrays a more positive way in which someone can be viewed as stubborn, emphasizing that he will fight tirelessly for his relationship with Lauren until the end of his days.

Rhett muses, “But when I throw my heart into something, I’m stuck in it until I’m covered, six feet under. / Oh, the last thing I’ll do is let me and you down, baby “I’m just too stubborn.”

It’s the kind of wonderfully complex, heartfelt lyricism that Thomas Rhett always brings to his albums, but which is often overshadowed by his bigger, pop-leaning anthems like the infectious “Somethin’ Bout a Woman” featuring Teddy Swims.

You have to say that “Stubborn” would fit perfect To Country Again (Side B)the long-awaited follow-up to Thomas Rhett’s acclaimed 2021 album, which saw Rhett dial back his genre-blending tendencies and deliver his most intimate project yet.

He has since returned to the diverse, R&B-infused palette his fans know and love, but nonetheless the vast majority of his listeners still long to hear another work in this form Country Again (Side A)which gave rise to masterful tracks such as “What’s Your Country Song”, “Want It Again”, “Ya Heard” and “Heaven Right Now”.

It looks like Thomas Rhett has quit Country Again (Side B)but with fans still vehemently demanding that TR call it quits, we’re holding out hope that we’ll hear the highly anticipated project soon.
