The Celtics, who have won 12 of their last 14 games, are also struggling with an injury to one of their regular players.

Kristaps Porzingis suffered a right heel injury in the first half of Sunday’s 112-98 win over Washington and sat out the second half.

“He’s doing better,” Joe Mazzulla said Tuesday. “He’s in the weight room right now. Let’s do a few shoots and then we’ll see how he feels on a day-to-day basis.”

Porzingis, who averaged 19 points and seven rebounds in seven games for Boston, missed the first month of the season while recovering from offseason surgery on his left foot. He downplayed his latest injury after Sunday’s competition.

“I turned up my heel a little,” he said. “I kept playing. Honestly, it wasn’t anything big. More of a precautionary measure. It was pretty sensitive. I told the medical staff and they just took me out of the game. I don’t think it’s anything big.”

Sam Hauser (back) is also questionable.

Thursday’s game will be the first of two consecutive meetings between the Bulls and Celtics, this one in Boston and Saturday’s in Chicago.
