Today’s Wordle etymology

The word “condemn” comes from the Old FrenchDescriptionMeaning “to shout out, announce, or denounce.” This in turn comes from the prefix des- (means “down” or “away”) and crier (means “to weep or proclaim”). In English, in the late 16th century, decipher took on the meaning of publicly condemn or criticize something.
