PLANE is usually a pretty good starting tip, but today it let me down. With 200 possible solutions remaining and one measly yellow box, I had to delete a lot of words. I’m not sure TAROT was the best choice, but it reduced that number to just 5 and secured a green box and a second vowel. MACHO removed all possible solutions except one: MAMBO for the win!

Today’s Wordle etymology

The word “Mambo” comes from the Kikongo language of Central Africa, where “Mambo” means “conversation” or “word”. It was brought to the Caribbean by the African diaspora and merged with Afro-Cuban culture. In Cuban music mambo evolved to describe a style of music and dance that emerged in the 1940s and was characterized by syncopated rhythms and energetic movements.
