Tom Brady isn’t a fan of how everything played out during the split between the New York Giants and Daniel Jones.

The legendary quarterback was in the Fox broadcast booth during the Giants-Dallas Cowboys game and opened up about the entire situation that led to Jones signing with the Minnesota Vikings after New York president John Mara announced The team granted his request for release after he was benched.

“I don’t know how the whole situation developed, but to think that you’re asking for a sacking from a team that was very committed to you is perhaps different to the way I would have handled it Brady said.

“I always felt like I wanted to gain the trust and respect of my teammates no matter the situation because I knew I was doing my best for the team because that was the most important thing.”

“Different things just happen in the NFL and everyone makes individual decisions. And I think we are all at a point in our careers and face different challenges. I mastered it in college. “Some things didn’t go my way.” help to victory.

The firing came after New York head coach Brian Daboll announced that Tommy DeVito would replace Jones.

Additionally, the Giants used Jones as a safety for their scout team during a practice after benching him.

It’s certainly not the ending the NFC East team envisioned when it gave Jones a four-year, $160 million contract in March 2023. This deal also included a $23 million injury guarantee for the 2025 season, which would have come into effect if he sustained an injury that prevented him from passing a physical exam during the upcoming offseason.

Brady brought up the money and wanted to set a positive example for his teammates, but Jones is only 27 years old and certainly wants to prove himself elsewhere. His release allowed him to sign with a playoff contender, the Vikings, even if he’s just a backup player.

Minnesota gets injury insurance with an experienced option to fall back on should Sam Darnold be sidelined down the stretch, and Jones can look to another heavily recruited player who didn’t live up to expectations in New York as a potential blueprint for the next phase learning his career.

Brady also never found himself in the same situation as Jones, as he became the face of the league during his time with the New England Patriots and won seven Super Bowls over the course of his illustrious career.

It was clear that Jones’ time as an important part of the Giants was coming to an end, and he and the team both made decisions with the future in mind.
