Tom Holland founds production company Billy17 with a contract with Sony

Tom Holland, along with Harry Holland and Will South, have signed a production deal with Sony Pictures under his newly launched Billy17 banner.

The trio will kick off their partnership with an original project they created together titled “Burnt.” Oscar winner Rodney Rothman (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”) will write the screenplay. Plot details are being kept secret, but the film is set to star Tom Holland.

They also plan to produce an adaptation of Graeme Simsion’s bestselling novel The Rosie Project with Sony Pictures for TriStar Pictures, which also produces Matt Tolmach and Michael Costigan from Jason Bateman’s Aggregate Films banner.

Additionally, the trio and Amy Pascal will produce an adaptation of Teddy Wayne’s recent novel The Winner, which will also serve as Holland’s lead project.

“I have had an incredibly happy and successful relationship with Sony Pictures for almost a decade, so they felt like the perfect partner to launch our production company,” said Tom Holland. “It’s been a desire of mine to take this step for some time and we’re incredibly excited to bring entertaining and rewatchable films to the big screen. That’s the hope for us and it starts with “Burnt”, an idea that’s been floating around in our heads for a few years and it’s incredible to have Rodney writing our most ambitious project. We’re diving into the deep end here and are extremely excited about what comes next.”

Tom Rothman, chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures’ Motion Picture Group, said: “Tom, Harry and Will are bursting with cool ideas and have the drive to make them happen.” Sony is very fortunate to have an already extremely successful relationship with Tom and to expand our ongoing work on the franchises we share into a new era where the trio’s producing skills, along with Tom’s exceptional acting skills, will be a wonderful addition. We are pushing ahead with these new projects at full speed and there is no doubt that there will be more to come.”

The deal continues the close relationship Sony Pictures has with Tom Holland, who starred and executive produced “Uncharted,” which grossed $407 million worldwide and is the fourth-highest-grossing video game adaptation domestically, and with Jon Watts.” Spider-Man” trilogy has earned nearly $4 billion worldwide. The latest film in the trilogy, Spider-Man: No Way Home, grossed $1.9 billion worldwide, making it the seventh highest-grossing film of all time worldwide, the third highest-grossing film of all time domestically, and the highest-grossing film of all time Sony pictures.
