Tonight, Friday, stormy and cold

Expect windy conditions to continue overnight, but winds will not be quite as strong as earlier Thursday. The stormy, cold and dry weather will continue on Friday.

SOME HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL, WE HAVE SOME OF THAT TOO. ETHAN. It was cold. VERY COLD OUT OVER THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, TEMPERATURES FEEL LIKE BETWEEN 100% THIS EVENING. IT WILL STAY LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT WAS JUST SO WINDY. NOW THE WINDS WILL NOT BE AS STRONG AS WE SEEN BEFORE TODAY, BUT WILL STILL BURN ALL NIGHT. WE’LL KEEP THIS WINTER COOL FOR OUR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AND THEN WE’LL FINALLY START TO WARM UP AGAIN AS WE START NEXT WEEK. BUT WITH THIS WARM UP THE CHANCES OF SOME TEMPORARY SHOWERS INCREASE, and much of next week looks like it will be pretty wet outside. We have breaks in the clouds, but the bitter winter cold remains at 29 degrees in Lebanon. BUT IT FEEL LIKE IT’S ONLY 20. BUT THE SUSTAINING WIND IS NOW ONLY BLOWING TEN MILES PER HOUR, BUT STILL 22 mph AT HARRISBURG AIRPORT, 16 mph AT CHAMBERSBURG. So look for mostly clear skies this evening. Lows will be in the 20s, but felt temperatures will remain in the teens and we could still see wind gusts around 30 mph. It will be a brisk start to our Friday morning. LOTS OF SUNSHINE BUT NOT MUCH HEAT AND IT STAYS COLD ALL DAY. Highs will be in the low to mid 30s. IT WILL FEEL LIKE THE 20’S IN THE AFTERNOON, BUT YOU MAY FEEL A WARMING CHRISTMAS GOODNESS. THEY HAVE A RANGE OF OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. AS WE GET CLOSER TO THE WEEKEND, WE MUST LIGHT UP YORK IN CONTINENTAL SQUARE TOMORROW EVENING. TEMPERATURES FROM 0°C TO THE UPPER 20°C. But again, the winds won’t be as strong, so it won’t be as bad as what we saw earlier today. WE ALSO HAVE LANCASTER, TUBA, CHRISTMAS AND YULE PLAZA IN DOWNTOWN LANCASTER WITH TEMPERATURES AROUND AROUND 20 C FOR THE EVENT. Today our high was 42°C, but that was just after midnight and the low is the current temperature. We noticed a trace of snow at the airport, but some areas actually had measurable snow, for example OVER AN INCH in Dauphin Borough and just in Dauphin County. MANHEIM, LANCASTER COUNTY received a third of an inch of snow. We still have light snow showers over northwestern Pennsylvania. BACK TO NORTHEASTERN OHIO. They will stay there all night. THIS EVENING THE SKY HAS CLEARED ACROSS MOST OF THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, SO IT WILL BE A BETTER COLD NIGHT TODAY WITH THIS BREEZE. That’s what it feels like out there. It feels like it’s 17 in Lancaster. FEELS LIKE IT’S 18 IN YORK. Actual air temperatures range from the upper 20s to almost 30 degrees. CURRENTLY 30 IN CARLISLE. 26 IF YOU WATCH US IN YORK YOU CAN SEE THE BIG COOLING OUT IN THE EASTERN, I WOULD SAY QUARTER OF THE UNITED STATES. Wherever you see this shade of rose, temperatures are below freezing. Now we’re starting to warm up again, but not before this area of high pressure building up over the Ohio River Valley starts sliding out to sea. THERE IS THE STORM SYSTEM THAT HAS BEEN HELPING TO PUSH THE STRONG COLD FRONT THROUGH THIS MORNING. BUT THIS HIGH PRESSURE EDGE AND THE PRESSURE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM MAKE IT SO WINDY. Finally, while the winds will die down, they won’t die down until we get closer to Saturday. So it’s going to be a brisk night tonight with mostly clear skies. THERE WILL BE WEATHER LIKE THIS ALL FRIDAY. Highs will only be in the mid to upper 30s. WE’LL DO A LITTLE BETTER ON SATURDAY, BUT IT WILL STILL BE A LITTLE COOL FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. BUT IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR WARMER WEATHER THAT’S FINALLY WARMER AS WE HEAD INTO SUNDAY WITH TEMPERATURES RISING BACK TO NEAR 50 DEGREES. NOW WITH THE WARM UP, THERE IS A CHANCE FOR SOME showers or periods of rain starting late Monday evening and continuing through at least Thursday of next week. Then we start seeing our weather doctor
