Top transfer portal WR Eric Singleton Jr. signs with Auburn Football

Auburn Football made a big splash in the transfer portal on Monday, signing former Georgia Tech wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr.

Singleton is the No. 2 player in the transfer portal according to On3 and No. 3 overall in the 247Sports rankings. In both rankings, he is the No. 1 wide receiver in the transfer portal.

Auburn had to beat the likes of Ole Miss, LSU, Miami and Texas to land Singleton, but he was leaning toward Auburn early on after his first visit.

During his two seasons with the Yellow Jackets, he caught 104 passes for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns and led the team in receiving yards each of the last two seasons. In the 2024 season, Singleton finished the year with 56 receptions for 754 yards and three touchdowns.

His addition to the receiver room helps fill a void left by top receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who is out of college eligibility after the 2024 season. Lambert-Smith was another transfer to Auburn and led the team in receiving yards (981) and receiving touchdowns (8).

With Singleton joining Horatio Fields as the second wide receiver transfer from Auburn, the Tigers have two experienced Power Four receivers to complement the young core of Cam Coleman, Malcolm Simmons, Perry Thompson and Bryce Cain.

Singleton will have two years of eligibility remaining when he arrives on the Plains.
