HOUSTON – Trae Tha Truth usually makes headlines for his music or his philanthropic work in the Houston area, but tonight he’s turning to the media for a much more serious reason, and that’s to locate his only daughter, who he says has been Missing about four months now.

“She’s the boss, she’s controlling, like she’s definitely softened me up. You know, a lot of things that I wouldn’t do, I definitely do,” Trae said while talking about his daughter Truth. “I would never imagine sitting at cheerleading practice, I would never imagine doing all sorts of things with her, but she’s the life of the party.”

These feelings were expressed in a song he wrote called “Letter to Truth.”

The same love for his youngest child that made him smile now brings tears to his eyes.

“Right now I don’t know where my baby lays his head, I don’t know what his mental state is like, I don’t know what he eats, I don’t know if he has clothes. I don’t even know whose house… I don’t know if she sleeps on the floor,” he said.

The truth has been missing for four months.

“The mother came to Houston and said she wanted to visit, so I took her and dropped her off in Humble,” he said.

“You thought you were going to get her back, that was a Friday, you thought you were going to get her back this Sunday?” asked KPRC 2 reporter Deven Clarke.

“Yes, Sunday before 6 p.m.,” Trae replied.

“But you never saw her in person again after that?” Clarke asked.

“No,” Trae replied.

He says it wasn’t easy tracking down Truth’s mother, 36-year-old Heather Cuevas.

“The phone connection was lost or at that point… she just disappeared, so luckily someone told me they were spotted in LA and that’s how it started, I went to LA to look for her.”

Trae says there are multiple warrants for Cuevas out of Texas and California aimed at restoring the truth. While Trae waits, he has a message not only for Cuevas, but also for anyone who might be helping her hide her daughter.

“Me and Truth have to deal with all kinds of therapy. So at this moment I ask Heather to simply think for others other than you as I need to think for others other than myself. Remember the truth because ultimately the goal is for her to live a better life than us,” he said.

Truth Thompson is 1.90 meters tall, weighs 30 kilograms, is slim and has long black hair.
