Traffic pursuit that starts in Dodge Co. ends in Dane Co. with arrest | News

BEAVER DAM, Wis. – A traffic pursuit began Sunday morning in Dodge County and ended in Dane County with the arrest of the person who drove away from officers, police said.

A Dodge County Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed a vehicle that had neither a rear nor front license plate on S. Madison Street in Beaver Dam around 8:30 a.m. The driver was reportedly driving over 100 miles per hour southbound on Highway 151 .

The driver drove over the speed limit of 90-100 mph for more than 16 miles. A Columbus police officer used a tire deflation device on the right front tire of the suspected driver’s vehicle.

Because of this, the car gradually slowed down and stopped at the intersection of Highway 151 and County Highway V in Dane County.

The 31-year-old driver faces charges of fleeing an officer and a misdemeanor for operating after revocation. He was also arrested on three outstanding warrants from previous jurisdictions.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
